We are full of anticipation for what God will be doing at the upcoming Sozo SA Summit and Trauma Conference, as we welcome international guest speaker, Yvonne Martinez, to equip Sozo ministry teams with a deeper understanding of the effects that trauma has on the behaviour of individuals and give us insight into dealing with them within Sozo ministry.

The full-day Trauma Conference is open to all Sozo ministry teams, as well as Christian therapists and psychologists that are interested in the content!

The Sozo SA Summit 2018
The Summit will take place in three cities – Durban, Cape Town and Pretoria. Each Summit will kick off with an evening get-together for Sozo ministry teams which will include a meal, followed by a full-day conference.

Evening event:

The focus of the evening event is for Sozo teams to connect and be encouraged about new developments on the Sozo front.

Note, however, that the Pretoria evening meeting is reserved for Team Leaders only, due to limited venue capacity.

Durban and CT evening events are open to all team members.

Full day Trauma Conference:

The focus of the following full-day conference will be to equip us with a deeper understanding of the effects trauma have on the behaviour of individuals and give us insight into dealing with them in Sozo ministry. Our guest speaker, Yvonne Martinez is from Bethel Church in Redding California and has 30 years of experience of working with individuals suffering from trauma. She will share with us how she has used the Bethel Sozo ministry to heal people.

Yvonne Martinez
Yvonne Martinez is the Director of Transformation Center, Bethel Church, Redding, CA and the Educational Director for CARE-EDU providing addiction education, pastoral counselor development, professional trauma-informed training, addiction treatment, and resources. Yvonne is an ordained minister with  CADC-CS, ICCS, ICADC, CADC II, NCAC I, CRPS credentials.

Yvonne was introduced to Sozo when she came on staff at the Bethel Transformation Center in 2008. She saw how valuable Sozo was in healing body, soul, and spirit and learned how to use Sozo with her clients trapped in unresolved traumatic experience, cycles of addiction and addictive self-harm. She regularly incorporates Sozo sessions with her clients in addiction treatment.

Yvonne now teaches other professionals how to incorporate the power of the Holy Spirit through Sozo into their client’s treatment plans.  Yvonne continues to develop curriculum to reach the heart of the hurting and emotionally broken. She is the author of 21 books.
